Last weekend, my husband and I took the long drive to Arkansas to visit my family. I had a blast. I got to see and visit with friends I hadn’t talked to in a long time. I got to be with family. Then all too soon, we had to go back.
I think, if my vacation had ended there, it would have been perfect. Unfortunately–for me–my husband had other ideas. My vacation may be over, but his was just beginning.
Let me make it clear. I love my husband. But he can be a bit much sometimes, especially when he gets with his college buddies.
On our way home, we picked up one of my husbands best friends from collage. My husband took the week off, and the two of them hung out all week, talking and playing video games.
Sound like fun? It was. For them.
I just felt like the third wheel. Furthermore, I couldn’t find a quiet place to relax. I’ve eaten too much junk food, not exercised near enough, and spent way too much time in a car this week. Though driving 4 hours to eat the best crawfish and shrimp in Texas for lunch was worth it.
So, you will have to pardon me for posting a short blog this week. I’m tired, and I’m ready for my vacation to be over.
